Christmas is very quickly approaching which means most of my October pay is going to be spent on purchasing gifts for my family however, I am hoping I can set some money to one side to treat myself too. Granted this wish list is a bit out there and I will be lucky to be able to afford even a few of these items but the wish list means I am buying what I really want rather than buying for the sake of it. There is certainly going to be a focus on home items when purchases are being made with this months pay due to us getting the kitchen done and us wanting all new items in here. So here is what I am hoping to pick up with October's pay...
Fashion
New Balance Trainers
I am currently obsessed with my New Balance 550's and they are actually one of the comfiest pairs of trainers I have had in a long time so I am wanting to add another pair of New Balance trainers into my rotation that is a bit different to the ones I currently own. The pair in the picture above is the front runner for a purchase at the moment as the silhouette is totally different to what I am used to and the colours just work amazingly together.
Nike P-6000
This pair of trainers I have been on the fence about for a while now however, I think it is time to make the purchase and I am hoping I can find a nice pair in the sale with October's pay. There are so many colourways for this model but I am going to have a look around and see which will suit my wardrobe the best, I need to make sure they are going to work with the clothing I already own.
Jeans
I am in desperate need of some new jeans as my current pairs are all getting too big for me. I am not planning on spending a fortune on these though as my size is changing all the time. Lately I have been loving the Primark straight fit jeans that are around £16 as they are baggy without being too baggy and suit the style I am aiming for so maybe a few pairs in different colours will be picked up over the next few weeks.
Plain T-Shirts
Whilst sorting out my clothing recently I have noticed that I don't have any plain t-shirts that fit me correctly so in October that is going to be changing as they are exactly what I need for my layered looks whether it is under a hoodie or under an open shirt. Again though these will be purchased on the cheap as they don't tend to last too long these days..
Plain Hoodies
I tend to opt for printed hoodies most of the time and I am just realising now that I don't have any plain ones which again would be great for layering and styling in general. I believe H&M & Primark currently have some great ones at reasonable prices so I think a trip is on the cards to pick up one or two. I just need to make sure I am buying ones that fit right and look good not just buying for the sake of it.
Fitness
Lifting Straps
Now I am taking my fitness journey more serious I am lifting heaving weights and I will be honest it is killing my wrists so the plan is to purchase a pair of lifting straps to see if they make a difference for me or not. I wont be spending a lot on these initially but maybe I will upgrade them a few months down the line if they do work for me.
Workout Trainers
I am planning on spending a whole lot more time in the gym when it reopens in November and I am hoping that I can get into lifting in the gym more. At the moment I wear my running shoes which I know are no good for lifting so I am eyeing up a pair of Nike Metcon's, let's see if I can find a pair in the sale to treat myself to.
Shorts
Now my size is changing I am finding that none of my shorts are fitting me correctly any more. With the gym reopening early November I want to make sure I have a new pair of shorts that fit right for the return. I think I am going to look in Primark or Sports Direct for these so I am not spending a fortune as they shouldn't be fitting me for too long.
Joggers
For going to and from the gym I am on the hunt for some cheap joggers again from Primark or Sports Direct just something comfortable for getting to the gym and home or for the home workouts in the home gym. I think a £15 budget for this should do the trick.
Home
New Pans
The kitchen renovation is well underway and a lot of the months purchases are going to reflect that. I am really hoping both me and Liam can chip in and treat ourselves to the stainless steel pans we have been wanting for a long time. These are certainly not going to be cheap but will definitely be worth it.
New Dinner Set
Our old dinner set is gone and a new one is needed however, we have been spoilt for choice. So far there are some nice ones I have seen in ASDA & Dunelm but I need to make sure I am not buying for the sake of it like I have done previously. I might need to set a budget for this so I am not spending more than I need to.
Storage Jars
We are having a bit of a pantry cupboard in the new kitchen and it is going to be my pantry of dreams with a home for everything that is nicely organised too. The hunt is well and truly on for the perfect storage jars for this area for items such as cereals, pasta, protein powders. I am hoping we can get them picked up ASAP so that this cupboard is one of the first we fill.
Chopping Boards
The old chopping boards are gone and it is time for a real upgrade. For the new kitchen the plan is to get a nice butchers block and then some good quality chopping boards that are going to serve us well and not start to fall apart like our previous ones did. We actually have a space for these to go in when the new kitchen is finished and I really can't wait.
Slow Cooker Cook Book
We recently got a slow cooker and haven't used it yet. I am just so unsure what to make in this so I think that getting a cook book might help me actually decide what to use the slow cooker for. So far the front runner for a purchase is the Pinch of Nom one as I love these cook books but we shall see what actually gets purchased.
There you go those are the items I am really hoping to pick up with my October pay. There is certainly going to be a focus on bits for the kitchen but I am really hoping that I can treat myself too. For now though let's get shopping and see what we end up getting off this list.
See you soon
Lucy
