Building A Wardrobe That Is Me #2

You may remember back in May I did a post all about building my perfect wardrobe, you can see that post here. I begun adding in items of clothing that were what I felt a lot more comfortable in and to be honest I have noticed a big difference I actually look forward to going into my wardrobe and picking different outfits out instead of dreading picking an outfit that I wouldn't feel good in or would be feeling fat in. Last week involved payday which meant I was able to head out and pick up a few more bits to add to the wardrobe, here is what I got.

In Primark I picked up 3 of these future projects t-shirts. I absolutely loved the fit of the one I tried on and picked it up in every colour. These are only £8 and actually look like some other more expensive items you can pick up in the likes of Footasylum. These t-shirts are really soft and are very simple with just the logo in the corner and going down the sleeves. They are perfect for this weather we have been having recently.

Also from Primark I picked up this Future hoodie. I got this just to throw on with some skinny jeans with a long line t-shirt under when I finally get some. I love the big print on the front and just the checker board print on one sleeve. I am loving the checker board print lately. I also think this will look good under a lightweight jacket or a nice denim jacket when I finally find a nice one. To say it was only £10 it is a really nice fit as I got it a little oversized.

My trusty Star Wars backpack has finally given in. I realised when I put my keys in and they fell straight through. I picked up this black backpack for £12 from Primark, it is a little larger than my other bags but it is perfect as I can fit everything in. It also looks a lot smarter than having Darth Vader prints all over it. I won't go into it too much though as I have an updated what's in my bag coming up soon.

I mentioned in my wish list post (you can read it here) the other day that I was after a lightweight jacket for in case I got caught in the rain whilst out shopping or walking to work. I managed to get the exact jacket I wanted from Primark for just £12. I went up a size on this too as it now means I can layer it with a hoodie. I love how instead of a drawstring on the hood it just has a little bit of elastic. The colour go really well together.  I could have got a darker one but I think it is about time I got some lighter clothing for a change.

I then went to the H&M sales and got this contrast jacket in the sale. It was originally £34.99 but I picked it up for just £10. It is a little thicker than my Primark one, and has a nice jersey lining with a little inside pocket. The actual pockets are also Velcro meaning I shouldn't keep loosing items like I usually do.  The hood is similar to the Primark on and the bottom is also elasticated, I am really hoping it keeps me dry. I spent £70 on an Adidas on a few years ago and that wasn't waterproof at all so let see if a cheaper jacket does a better job. At least now I have a few options on what to wear.

So there you have it that is what I have recently added to my wardrobe which is slowly growing. Can you recommend any shops or items I should get? Let me know.

See you soon,
Lucy.

Last Week #9

Last week started off with me heading for an MRI scan on my knee at long last, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I just can't sit still for more than 2 minutes. That day then ended perfectly with England winning their first game. The rest of the week was just filled with work, but on Wednesday I finally convinced Liam to take me up to Home Bargains and Aldi, where I treated us to some nice reed diffusers for the house and some nice room sprays, I even picked up one of those mops with the spray bottle attached to it. Who would have thought I was actually willingly wanting to go out and spend money on a mop which I actually got pretty excited about. The house is slowly starting to come together as well as our garden. We have had someone round to sort this out properly for us and hopefully we can get out and do some work ourselves on it soon then we can finally sit out there or in my case play football out there. So here is what I had....

Been Watching: The World cup is well and truly in full swing so that had been on the TV every single day. I am so glad I managed to get Liam more into football so their is no arguments on what we are watching.  I had also watched far too many cleaning videos on YouTube, which now means all I want to do is clean and organise the house.

Been reading : Reading had been none existent last week due to the fact that I had been watching all the cleaning videos. I really do need to start again though.

Been listening to : I finally decided to treat myself to Spotify premium and I am looking forward to playing around with it a little more. I had been listening to a lot of Demi Lovato again especially her fantastic new song Sober. I also had the Halsey and Lauren Jauregui Strangers video on repeat as it is brilliant.

Bought : I had a bit of a Primark haul once again but I will say what I got in that later on in the week. I also got the mop with spray bottle and a couple of room sprays and reed diffusers.

Plans for this week : I want to get more done in the dining room, I really think we could get it to the stage where it would be ready for the wallpaper next week. I also want to get 5 posts up on here this week with plenty of content planned for next month.

Finding My Style Wish List

I am doing my best to start building a wardrobe that is more me and my style instead of just buying pieces for the sake of it. It is a slow process but I am slowly getting there, I have clothes I actually feel comfortable in and happy in which is very rare to be honest. But in the mean time here are some of the items I am wanting to purchase to add to the wardrobe and finish off outfits, this wish list contains clothing, shoes, accessories and even a perfume. So here we go...

I recently picked up the t-shirt in a navy blue but more about that soon. At just £25 I don't think these are expensive at all as they are brilliant quality, after seeing how my navy one fits I need to go pick up a grey one too now. These are perfect one their own or being layered.

I only have a thick smart coat or my thick Superdry coat, I have nothing in between for when it is warm but raining. Primark currently have a great selection of contrast jackets in store at just £12.00, I have seen a few I want to try get so fingers crossed they are still there when I have some money. They are perfect to fold away into a backpack just in case but are also super lightweight for when you are wearing it on those cooler days. They look really easy to style too. I don't want to spend too much on a lightweight jacket as I am loosing weight quite fast now and I don't want to spend a fortune on something that may soon be too big for me.
Jordan Flight Legend Men's Shoe

I am obsessed with trainers lately and I really want to add more into my collection. I really want to add more Jordan's into my collection too as they are a brilliant trainer and are super sturdy. I am in love with these flight legends and they are currently on sale on the Nike store so who knows I may need to treat myself. The simple black and white deigns looks brilliant and like it would go with anything.

I don't like handbags at all and I am sick of just having my money loose in my pockets as I keep loosing things such as my i.d and bank cards. I am currently searching all over for this bag from Primark as it is just £7.00 and I love the writing on the strap. If I can't find this one in Primark I am definitely going to keep an eye out for another one just like it as it is perfect for me.

Following on from the bag I am wanting to get a nice little card holder to stop me loosing items. I have found this  Saint Laurent Card holder for  £180 but that is just a little too expensive for me at the moment so I am going to keep an eye out for a cheaper alternative which has card space plus a zip pouch for my money, failing that I may have to just invest in a new nice wallet.

Finally is the Balenciaga B eau de parfum, I keep picking this up however at £84.00 it is definitely on the pricey side. My perfume is currently running out and it is driving me crazy trying to find a new scent at a reasonable price that I like. This one is definitely the number 1 contender for purchase as it smells perfect. I can't leave the house without a perfume on so I am going to have to hurry up and decide on one I want to get.

So there you have it those are just a few of the items I am hoping to pick up in the next few months, can you recommend any items?

See you soon

Demi Lovato : Tell Me You Love Me Manchester

Demi lovato tell me you love me manchester

Finally after a 10 year wait I got to see Demi Lovato. It all started when Camp Rock came out on the Disney channel, I have lost count how many times I have actually watched that film. Demi's voice instantly became one I fell in love with and her acting was also amazing. If you ask my parents though they will say it all started back in Demi's days on Barney as I was obsessed with that show for far too long. I have all her albums and was absolutely gripped whilst watching her documentary on YouTube. When tickets were announced we were in the process of buying a house, but after a bit of a debate I decided I was definitely not missing out on a chance to finally see her no matter how far back we were going to be sat and lets just say she did not disappoint.

The first support act of the night was singer Joy, now this is someone who I hadn't heard of before but she was OK but not really my type of music. Next up was the amazing Jax Jones, I had not been a fan of Jax Jones until Demi collaborated on Instruction with him and WOW he was amazing on Saturday. Liam wasn't impressed but that is mainly because he really doesn't like that kind of music. Then finally it was time for Demi.

Demi lovato tell me you love me manchester

I really wasn't sure how Demi was going to be due to the fact she recently postponed 2 shows due to been ill however, I can not fault her, the voice is even more amazing live than it is on the album. Little videos were shown between some songs, like just before Daddy Issues when Demi was seen in a psychiatrist appointment then came on stage laid on the chair, or before Confident when a fighting videos was shown and she came out in the fighting robe and boots.

There was a mix of old and new songs and even songs she features on such as Solo and Instruction where Jax Jones came back on stage to perform with her. During Give Your Heart A Break there was even a kiss cam, it was great to hear this song live too as it has always been a favourite especially when she performed it with Fifth Harmony on the X Factor back in 2012.  No matter what song Demi was singing she really gave it hr all, you honestly wouldn't tell she had an injured foot and had lost her voice a week ago.

Demi even dedicated her song Skyscraper to the victims of the Manchester attacks and the strength of the City in the aftermath, which I thought was a very nice touch and due to a personal connection with that song already it was so great to hear it. Another great one was Warrior, Demi spoke about mental health before this song and it really hit home and meant a lot... I even recorded this song and the speech just so if I struggle ever again I can go back and listen to that.

The whole show was absolutely perfect and just finally seeing her after so many years and what she means to me was absolutely amazing, I can't wait for her next tour. My favourite songs of the night were definitely Lonely, Daddy Issues, Warrior and Cool for the summer.
Obviously I couldn't go see Demi and not pick up some merchandise, here is what I treated myself to...

Demi lovato tour merchDemi lovato tour merch

I picked up this tour t-shirt with the dates on the back as I always like to keep them, I usually wear it a few times then they go into a memory box before they get ruined however, this one may get worn a bit more as it fits perfect and is super soft. I also picked up a little festival band as I could really do with more bracelets and I liked how this is black and red. Next up is the most expensive item, the hoodie. I was hoping they had some with an image of Demi on but they didn't so I will have to look online for one of those. this hoody fits lovely and just has a simple rose along with the words tell me you love me along the side of it. Finally I think this is my favourite purchase... The tour poster, we got this for in the games room as it seriously is lacking any images up on the wall and there was no way I was leaving without this.

Next up for me is Navi King of Pop which I can't wait for but seriously Demi is one of my favourite shows of all time, that woman means so much to me and is the true definition of a Warrior. I am sure you will see a lot more of her on the blog in the future.

See you soon
Lucy.

Last Week #8

Demi Lovato in manchester 2018

Last was brilliant, my 10 year wait was over at long last and I finally got to see Demi Lovato live, the show was actually amazing, be sure to check back tomorrow to see my round up of the show and what I thought after waiting so long. Along with seeing Demi the World Cup finally kicked off, me and Liam are loving it, no arguments over what to watch on the TV as it is simply sit down and watch whatever game is on. Fathers day also meant plenty of family time too. So here I what I had...

Been Watching: The World Cup has been on everyday since it kicked off, but I also managed to watch the new Alex Morgan film Alex and Me, it was amazing but I think I will save that for another post. I also managed to watch plenty of Gallucks over on YouTube.

Been reading : I hadn't done any reading last week just due to the amount of things I watched.

Been listening to : Demi Lovato had been on repeat all week getting me ready to go see her, I absolutely love all her music and could listen to it forever.

Bought : I finally got myself a new belt seen as my other was falling apart. I got my copy of Alex and Me and I also treated myself to a Levis t-shirt which will be coming up in a future post. My big purchases all came from Demi though as I treated myself whilst I was there.

Plans for this week : I have my MRI scan today then it will be a case of rushing home to watch the football. I think rushing home will be the case of most days as I don't want to miss any games. I am also hoping to get out on a shopping trip and sort the wardrobe out so we can have some shelves. I also want to get the little room sorted out a little more as it has everything just thrown in it.

Dressing Room Wish List

Now the dining room is in the process of being decorated, I am already starting to plan out the dressing room/spare room. Unfortunately we can't start on this until everything is out in the dining room as the spare room at the moment is just being used as storage for things yet to be sorted through.  But as we go along doing room by room it is slowly getting emptied, at long last. Granted there will be a few other bits that we need to find a space for until our loft is done but I am sure it won't take too long. So here is what I am hoping to get to get the dressing room fully done....

We are lucky enough to already have a sofa bed which my dad kindly give to us when we first moved in. So this is a black sofa which just turns nicely into a double bed. It is pretty comfy too. I am going to move this into the spare room and have some nice cushions on this along with a nice throw, which will just mean it looks nice whilst just being used as sofa on a day to day basis.

Along the back wall with the sofa bed will be a freestanding mirror, which I am hoping is this one from The Range as it looks brilliant and only costs £27.99. At the moment we only have a tiny little mirror, which causes chaos sometimes when trying to piece an outfit together. I am on countdown for getting this as it will just mean getting ready on a morning is one million times easier for both me and Liam.
For the dressing table I have my eyes on the Malm dresser from Ikea, at £80 I don't think it costs too much and after looking at it quite a few times I really am set on purchasing this. I will be keeping all my makeup in the drawer as I don't really have that much and on the top will be a nice mirror, my makeup brushes and a mirror plate holding my favourite perfumes. I just don't want it to look too cluttered. I just need to find a nice black chair/stool to go with the dressing table, as I don't want anything too big.
When we were last in Ikea I saw quite a few artificial plants that I really liked and these started at just £3.00 each. I think I may get a few of these for the window in the room and one to go on my dressing table. I usually hate things like this so I aren't too sure what is making like these ones. Obviously I will be getting some nice little pots for these to go into.

I have wanted the Alex drawers for so long but never had anywhere to put them, but now we have this room they will fit just nicely at the side of the dressing table. I have far too many hair products as you will see in a future post, so these are perfect. I can put my styling tools in the deeper drawers and have separate drawers for different types of styling products. It will just be so nice to open a draw and everything be neatly put away and easy to access. It might also have some of my jewellery in as I don't have that much and I don't like my current jewellery holder.  I will also be keeping my record player on the top of here as I love listening to music whilst getting ready.

I really want one of these wire baskets too as at the moment I have a few home workout items just left laying around the house so this could be a place where it is all just put together. I just need something big enough to hold my yoga mat and foam roller. Plus if I get one like this and the items fit in so that the lid still fits, that will be an added bonus as I can put something nice on display on the top.

Finally to finish off the room I really want to add some nice art prints, with my current trainer (sneaker) obsession I think I may have to get a few off Etsy that I have recently seen. Especially any that are Yeezy's or Nike.

I really can't wait until this room is done and I will be sure to keep posting updates on the blog as things slowly progress. Can you recommend anything to go in here the room?

See you soon,
Lucy

Last Week #7

Sunday we decided after the naming day ceremony for my cousins little one, that we would head to the Piece Hall in Halifax for a few drinks before getting the bus home. For some reason we thought it would be fun to walk into Halifax and as a result my knee is well and truly gone. But it was a brilliant day. Saturday was a day spent at home, we should have been doing jobs but honestly all I wanted was a nice relaxed day. The week was just filled with work but luckily we got an early finish so I managed to get back in time to watch England women on Friday. So here is what I had...

Been Watching: I hadn't really watched anything other than the football last week as we were trying to get jobs done.

Been reading : I completed Alex Morgan's book at long last and started reading another women's football book called Under the Lights and in the dark.

Been listening to : Demi Lovato was on quite a bit last week as we are getting ready to go see her but the most listened to were Lauren Jauregui's first 3 solo songs which are absolutely amazing.

Bought : I had been good and not actually bought anything for a change. Mainly because we have stayed in.

Plans for this week : I want to get plenty more posts up on here and take plenty of pics for my instagram. I want to get a bit more done in the dining room too.

Last weeks posts : Make Up Inspo : Lauren Jauregui

Make Up Inspo : Lauren Jauregui

I am super lazy in a morning, although I wake up at 6am I just lay around watching YouTube videos or scrolling through Twitter. But I really want to start making more of an effort, I want to actually starting getting up earlier to give me more time to get ready. This is mainly because I want to start using the make up I own, Liam always buys me it and I am just too lazy to put it on and make an effort. We are having the spare room as a guest room / dressing room for me so I can keep things in one place and hopefully get into a routine of getting up and going in to apply my make up.

One person whose make up look I have always wanted to recreate is Lauren Jauregui's. What I love about Lauren's look is she keeps it so natural but brings focus to her already stand out eyes. I have never been a fan of over the top makeup and when I do actually put it on I keep it as minimal as possible but enough to cover up my terrible skin. These 2 looks below are some I will definitely try to recreate. I need to learn how to do the eyeliner as that is something I really struggle with but I am sure my sister can help out with that. I also love the nude lips, in fact these are the only sort of lip products I currently own.  This is perfect for an everyday/ subtle look.

The look below is one I also love and would love to recreate in the autumn / colder months. This one is a little darker on the eyes and it goes perfect with the darker lips. Just look how it makes her eyes stand out even more than usual. I want to start being a little more adventurous with my make up so this with the darker bolder lips may possibly be one of the first steps I take.

Me and Liam really do need to start going out more often, whether it is for drinks or a meal, we don't really do it often enough as I currently hate going out due to 0 body confidence. But as my weight is going down my confidence is rising, I am finding myself wanting to get dressed up and go out for the night. Not only do I want to dress up nice but I also want to have the nice make up to go along with it. Which is where the below look comes into play, I would love the really dark lips and heavier eye make up as it just looks so smart and classy the way Lauren does it.

I am sure this won't be the last you see of Lauren on the blog, she has already been on one on my Fashion Inspo Posts which you can check out here. Do you have any tips for me recreating these looks? I would love to know, leave me a comment below or get in touch on Twitter.
