Here we go it is time to kick off the building the dream series. Week one has been a mixed one but what I can say is it is like a switch has been flipped and for once I am feeling super hopeful of how this journey could actually play out over time.
The past week saw me post on this website all 5 times that I set out to post and I even managed to post 2 times on Edge of the Area which is certainly a step in the right direction rather than it being sat dormant like it has the past few years. I have even started putting in place plans for the changes I am going to be making for the websites going forward, I have also planned out the direction I want to take the social media accounts in at last. A plan has also been made to upgrade the equipment but more on that another day.
Overall I think this week has gone so much better than I thought it would with things taking shape nicely with a clear sense of direction at last. The past week has definitely highlighted to me that somethings do need to change but overall I think it is a week that has gone well and I have achieved a great sense of clarity to take forward on this journey.
A bit of a low point though was an energy dip at the weekend. I had planned to do so much but then the lack of energy just meant nothing really got done. I know what needs to change for this though and I am hopefully I can get on track this week even if last weekend didn't go to plan.
In terms of achievements for the week I have to say that the biggest one was certainly getting some content up on Edge of the Area, this has been dormant for so long due to creative blocks however, I feel like I am finally back in a place where I can create consistently now after a great week on the football content. Another achievement is being added to the official media list for the women's team I am going to be mainly covering next season, this is a huge step in the right direction and I am hopefully it is the start of something positive going forward.
Social media stats
Now to be honest I wasn't half as active on social media as last week, posts were limited and inspiration was lacking. This gives me a good starting point though for going forward and I am looking forward to seeing how things progress. So here is the starting point in terms of followers and views...
Instagram followers:
Personal - 893
Football - 655
Football Facebook - 349
Personal TikTok - 369
TNG Website views - 130
Edge of the Area views - 46
I am really hoping that I can see some growth by next week if I actually put more time and effort into the sites and social media accounts. The potential is definitely there it is just time to maximize it.
Looking to the week ahead it is going to be a bit of a busy one with a concert and fathers day which will mean a few less hours on those days working towards the progress however, a solid week around these days should make for a great week. A big focus is going to be changing pages on here and Edge of the Area but I am also going to be working on the personal social media accounts, try build a bit of consistency over there and hopefully get a bit ahead of myself.
Some changes are going to be taking place too like focusing evenings on a specific site so I am not juggling and taking too much on like I have previously. This should just help me stay focused and be that bit more productive than I have been recently. I am going to utilize to do lists too so I know what the task at hand is and I don't move on until that task is ticked off as complete.
Goals for the week ahead
I am absolutely determined to smash the week ahead. It is safe to say the ideas are flowing and I am excited to get creating and working towards that dream, piggybacking off how well last week went. So here are my 5 goals for this week...
> Post 7 times on my personal Instagram
> Post on here Monday to Friday
> Redo the pages layout on Edge of the Area
> Workout 3 times
> Post twice on the Edge of the Area website
So there we are that is how week 1 went. I feel like this is the start of something really good and I can't wait to update next Monday with hopefully a lot more progress. This journey has a lot of potential and it is time to work towards that end product. Let's have a great week...
See you soon
