It is time to save for the dream watch

It is no secret that I absolutely love a good watch and whilst the collection is lacking at the moment I am planning on making some big changes to it over the next few years. I have start compiling a list of watches I would love to purchase however, the total cost doesn't align with the wage I am currently earning therefore I am going to have to make some changes and increase that income if I want to eventually make these purchases. Whilst I work on increasing my wage and bringing in more money my plan is to knuckle down and actually save some money as this collection isn't just going to magically appear overnight.

Whilst I am working on earning more my plan is going to be nice and simple... set up a separate savings account for the collection and put a specific amount in each month and let that build up until I hit the amount I need for the watch I am planning on purchasing.

The first watch I am determined to purchase is a Tag Carrera which I am looking at needing around £3,150 to be able to purchase. The thing is though I don't just want to purchase this watch once I hit that amount of money, I want to save up and hopefully have it align with one of the big life goals I have set for myself. I have recently set myself some pretty big goals so to align hitting one of these with being able to afford a dream watch would just be absolutely perfect as I have always thought a watch purchase is great to match up to milestones in life. Like when I got my Michael Kors watch for my 21st or when I got my Tag Formula One for my 30th birthday. It just makes that watch feel even more special in the long run.

I am really hoping that having a set target will help me get better with money too as I have always been useless at savings but if I want these nice things I need to learn to save for them. I put money in savings at the moment but dip in and out of them and the number goes down rather than up which is not beneficial at all and just show my bad money habits. I also go out spending for the sake of it and I have a house full of items that I don't even need or use so there is just wasted money sat around which I need to stop. If the savings account is for a watch in it's own account this should be a bit of added motivation to not dip in and take money out and let it build up.

This is only the beginning of me getting better with my money, stopping wasting it and actually getting those items I have always wanted. Maybe by doing this my attitude towards money will change all together but I guess we shall see. For now let's keep putting that money away and get started on the watch collection...

See you soon
Lucy
