If I am travelling more it is time to invest in things

I am really hoping to get away more in 2026 after having some fantastic trips away in 2025. Last year I finally went abroad after not leaving the UK for the longest time and it was an absolutely fantastic break, just me & my mum so I am hoping I can have more trips like this. There were trips just me, Liam & the dog then whole family trips which we absolutely amazing. What I did realise though was I am just not ready for packing up and going away whether it is abroad or in the UK some items were falling apart whilst others where just missing all together and if I want to be travelling more I want to make sure I am ready for it this time. This is why I will be investing in travel bits over the next 12 months and beyond to make sure I am ready for wherever we are heading...

By Alexander Hutton Suitcase

The Jade suitcase that this company does looks absolutely stunning. Granted these are a fair bit more money than I would typically pay for a suitcase however, I am wanting to invest in items going forward and this seems like an investment that is going to be worth it. This suitcase just looks super smart and the colour is gorgeous, I just don't which size I would prefer.

Leather Backpack

A decent bag to take on the plane with me or on a car journey is exactly what I need for storing my books, electronics and sunglasses etc. My backpack when I went away last year was alright but it didn't feel too sturdy so I want to treat myself this year to a new bag. I know they aren't cheap but I would absolutely love a Coach backpack for my travels, they just look super smart. Hopefully this is a 2026 pick up.

Luggage Tag

To really level up the luggage experience I would love to get myself a nice luggage tag for on my case. My previous one for going away felt a little flimsy and looked like it could easily snap. A leather one would look great alongside the new case and just looks a little more luxurious. I love the Aspinal of London ones however they are a little expensive so I may find a cheaper alternative.

Document Holder

I am getting sick of going away whether it is in the UK or abroad and having all my documents in a plastic wallet as there is no order to anything and things can easily get mixed up. Going forward I would love to have a proper document holder to keep everything in one space but organised so I know where everything should be. Even if it is a case of a staycation and needing check in documents one of these would make life much easier.

Passport Cover

I know that technically you don't need a passport cover but seen as I am getting a new passport I would love to give it a bit of extra protection rather than just throwing it in my backpack like I previously did. With the dark colours of the passport too I will admit I thought I lost it a few times when it was just in the bottom of my bag so hopefully a light cover will make it more identifiable.

Packing Cubes

I used to love my packing cubes as they made life so much easier but unfortunately I had to bin them as they started falling apart. The plan for 2026 is to get some better quality packing cubes to make getting ready whilst away much easier. With these I simply grouped outfits together so that each day I could just grab a cube, get ready & head out. The reintroduction to these will definitely make it money well spent.

Tech Pouch

As part of being super organised whilst travelling the plan is to purchase a tech bag to put all those wires in one place so they don't get tangled & plug in a pouch so they don't damage anything else. I remember our last staycation having to untangle all my chargers when we got there as everything got thrown in my bag but with one of these pouches everything can have its own home so it stays untangled & doesn't go missing.

Nice Wash Bag

My current wash bag is falling apart and is covered in stains from where products have previously leaked so it is well overdue an upgrade. I want a good sized wash bag that is going to stand the test of time whilst also looking good. It needs to be a good size too as I actually plan to take products with me next time rather than borrowing from family members like I usually do.

Watch Holder

It is no secret that I love a good watch and on past trips I haven't been taking any watches with me due to not being able to transport them without the worry of damaging them. The plan is to pick up a good quality watch holder for all my trips this year whether they are staycations or trips abroad. This will just mean I can take my watches away with me with the piece of mind that they are less likely to be damaged whilst travelling.

There you go those are the items I want to pick up as I plan to do a lot more travelling both in and out of the UK. Granted this could be a bit of an expensive list to purchase however, each one is certainly going to be worth it. I wonder what I will pick up first?

The Fitness Lock In : Week 3

Well that is another week done and dusted. To be honest due to various factors I haven't had the best week but here how it went...

Workouts

Due to football being watched on Wednesday I didn't make my boxing classes, then other factors occurred which led to me being unable to workout. That changed on Monday though and I managed to get to the gym where I did a great upper session followed by a short run.

Steps

Steps have been massively lacking and I know this is something I need to work on going forward. Things took a turn on Monday when I hit my 8,000 steps for the day and I am hoping that is a sign of things to come and I can continue increasing my daily steps going forward.

Nutrition

I have been within my calories all week which has been a challenge as I definitely wanted to snack a lot of the time. However, I really need to make changes to my diet going forward. Yes I might be in my calories each day but it isn't always nutritious food I am eating.

The Struggles of the week

The biggest struggle has definitely been getting moving. A skin flare up left me in agony for days which wrote off a lot of sessions as I knew they would make the issues worse. I feel like if I didn't have the flare up things would have been much better for the week.

Focuses for the week ahead

Going forward the focus is on adding better food into my diet to aid recovery more and just make me feel better in myself. I am also focusing on getting those sessions boxed off all week in the hopes of seeing some good progress.

Goals Wrap Up

 > Get into the 101 kg bracket - I am still a way off this but I know it is coming sooner rather than later.

> 8,000 steps a day - This happened once which I am annoyed about but steps are in place to improve this.

>  Gym at least twice - The skin flare up stopped this but we managed one in the end so not all hope was lost.

> No takeaways - We ended up having a takeaway as a payday treat but rather than something greasy I stuck to chicken tikka and chips so I don't feel too bad about this.

Now for the all important part the weight:

Start of 2026 weight : 104.7 Kg

Last weeks weight : 103 kg

This weeks weight : 103 kg

Difference for the year : - 1.7 kg

I kind of expected a rise this week due to various factors out of my control so I was pleasantly surprised to see that I managed to maintain. Granted that wasn't the goal for the week though so now it is time to really lock in and get making some progress. If I want to hit the 100 Kg goal in early February then it is go time.

My goals for the week ahead:

> Get into the 101 kg bracket

> Go Boxing

>  Gym at least twice

> Add more fruit & veg to diet

> 1 Run in the home gym

Some goals have stayed the same but others have been slightly changed in the hopes of me finally seeing that drop. Hopefully I now knuckle on down, nail those gym sessions and make changes to my diet and by next Tuesday's post I will hopefully finally be able to change that difference for the year and have February off to a good start which is how I need the month to go.

Let's see what next weeks wrap up includes shall we.

January 2026 Pay Day Wish List

This year I am trying to keep my spending month to month to a minimum as I am wanting to focus more on saving to get the jobs around the house done. That being said I still want to treat myself to a few bits each month so these wish list posts are staying and I am going to try limit myself to only items on this list but there may only be a few items actually bought each month so some items may be on the wish lists for a few months now as I am not planning on rushing purchases for the sake of it this year. My attitude towards spending has already changed and I plan to keep on doing well with putting into savings rather than taking out going forward. For a purchase to make it to these lists it needs to help me align with my goals for the year too as every purchase is going to be intentional from now on. So here are the items on this months wish list...

Nike Metcons

Now this is only going to be a purchase if I hit my 100 kg target so it could be a purchase or it may get pushed back another month if the scales aren't my friend. I am really looking forward to buying these though as I think they are really going to help me with my sessions rather than me wearing running shoes for weight lifting.

Gym 1/4 Zip

I think this is going to be a Primark purchase as for how long it is hopefully going to last me due to losing weight this is the perfect price point. I have had these in the past and they fit well and don't restrict the movement so I feel I may as well get another one of these to keep me going rather than splashing out on a Gymshark one.

Primark Windbreaker

The Primark windbreakers are all over my social media at the moment and the black one is looking like it could easily be a purchase. I want to try this on before definitely settling on this as it is a bit different to what I would usually wear but I think this would be great just to throw on for walks and getting to boxing if the weather isn't the best.

Gym Socks

I am lacking in the comfy socks department for the gym as my current ones just seem to have disappeared. Again I holding off on a Gymshark order so I think I should be able to get a hold of some good ones from Primark when I head for the other gym bits. The plan is to keep a good stock of these that I can grab and go and that actually look the colour they should be.

A Small Holdall

With me going back to boxing I could do with a bag that is big enough for me to put my gloves, pads and inhaler in without them falling out which is what happens with my current bag. I am tempted to pick up a nice little Nike holdall to make my life much easier for sessions I attend.

L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Serum

I am determined to look after my skin this year so I think that it is finally time to purchase the Perfect Serum which I have had on my wish list for a while now. I have heard good things about this so let's see if it works for my skin. The thing that has put me off in the past has been the price but now I believe it is time to just go ahead and make the purchase to help with my skin condition.

Who knows just how much off this list is going to be purchased throughout the month but I guess we will soon find out. The thing I want the most is definitely the Metcon's so I definitely need to lock in and get this weight dropping.

See you soon,

Building a collection : The watches I would love to own

I don't think it is a secret that I love a good watch, for my 30th I got my first Tag Heuer which I absolutely love but I have to say getting that has certainly created a bit of a bug and I am determined to build a brilliant watch collection to match my lifestyle that helps elevate my outfits day to day. The plan going forward is to not wear my fitness watch daily and actually make an effort to match my watch to my outfit to make it look so much nicer as the Garmin just doesn't cut it sometimes. I often find myself just looking at watches, mindless scrolling on social media or online stores and lately there are a few watches that have caught my eye all at different price points as you don't need to spend a fortune on a good quality watch. So here are watches I would love to add into the watch collection I am building...

Hugo Boss Grand Tour

This Hugo Boss watch is a stand out for me at the price it is as it looks super expensive but won't break the bank. The two tone bracelet & green face just work super well together and unlike other watches I own the face is a reasonable size so won't be too bulky on my wrist. I keep being pulled back to this watch so I honestly think this could be a treat to myself very soon.

Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Clover Club

This watch looks a lot classier than ones I currently own and to be honest if shown this a year ago I would have laughed it off and said 'nope this isn't me' but with how things have changed lately this is now up there as being one of the most perfect watches for me. The smaller face, the colours working brilliantly together it just looks super luxurious and is exactly what I am looking for in a watch lately.

Raymond Weil Toccata Two Tone

Now Raymond Weil is a name I have heard of a fair few times however, I normally just skip over it but a week or so ago I sat down and had a look through some of their pieces and immediately fell in love with the Toccata. This just looks super luxurious and the two tone works really well with the face of this. I feel like this would be great for a variety of occasions and really elevate the outfits I wear.

Longines Conquest

This is a name I have seen floating around social media a fair bit but again never really paid attention to. When scrolling a jewelers website recently though I came across this watch and immediately fell in love with it. This watch is so simple but looks absolutely fantastic thanks to the dark face against the silver bracelet. This is on the more expensive side of things but will be the perfect piece for my collection.

Tag Carrera

I have fallen in love with the Tag brand and I think there will be a few models added into my collection over the years. The next model I want to add is the Carrera which is certainly a piece that can be dressed up or down. Again I want this in a bit of a smaller face to what I am used to and I want a face colour that is going to go with the majority of my wardrobe.

Cartier Santos Small Model

Finally we have my dream watch the Cartier Santos in the small model. Now this is a dream due to the price tag that comes with this watch but I am setting myself some huge goals for the next 10 years and one of those goals is to have this watch within my collection, maybe it is a reward for hitting one of the big goals or maybe it is a goal in itself either way I would love to own this in the next 10 years. I can imagine the outfits I can create with this already.

So there you have it those are the watches I would love to add into a collection I am slowly trying to build. This is definitely going to be a long journey due to the cost involved in the purchases but I really can't wait to get into collection watches properly, something I have wanted to do for a long time now. I am no longer putting off the things I want to do and I am using my money for what I want going forward and watches are something I definitely want to put my money into going forward.

Now let's get working towards buying my first one...

See you soon,
Lucy

The Fitness Lock In : Week 2

Well week 2 of the fitness lock in and unfortunately I wasn't as locked in as I hoped. I am not too happy with how the week has gone and I really need to change things if I really want to see the process take shape. So here is a wrap up of the week...

Workouts

I went back boxing on Wednesday and had an absolutely fantastic time. I honestly forgot how demanding those sessions were and I am so glad I am now adding them into my weekly routine as I believe I am going to really benefit from them going forward. Unfortunately this is the only workout I got in last week as I got carried away working on projects and locking in ideas for those. I need to find a balance between everything going forward.

Steps

I only managed to hit my 8,000 steps two days last week and I am so mad as I could have pushed myself to complete them so many more times however, I spent a lot of time at my computer working on projects which is going to be something I am doing more often, I just need to work out a balance so I can do my project work and steps without having to neglect one or the other.

Nutrition

I nailed my nutrition is week one however, in week 2 things weren't the best. Granted I stick to my calories however, I had a meal out and a takeaway. For once though I managed to not fall into the cycle of having these daily and got straight back to cooking the following day. I really want to get back on with eating better now though so the weight continues to drop.

The Struggles of the week

Finding a balance for everything has been the biggest struggle for the week for me and that is why I am planning on sitting down to create a bit of a schedule to stick to going forward rather than winging it. I am hoping a schedule will help me balance working on the weight loss journey and growing my websites. I need to stop talking myself out of gym trips too as these are going to help that weight drop at long last.

Focuses for the week ahead

Going forward the focus is certainly on finding a balance to get everything I want to do done whilst also putting my weight loss journey back to the front of my mind.

Goals Wrap Up

> Get closer to my 100 Kg target - Unfortunately we are still a bit of a way off this one but we are getting there.

> 8,000 steps a day for 5 out of 7 days - Due to other things taking priority steps haven't been anywhere near good enough but it is time to change that going forward.

> Go on more dog walks - Again other things took over from this but going forward I am planning on going on plenty more with Liam & Odin now time has become available.

> Continue with no takeaways - We broke this one as we had a takeaway after the football on Saturday. I didn't order the greasiest thing on the menu for a change though.

> Go to the gym at least twice - I didn't manage to get to the gym and I am mad at myself to be honest. Time to make the gym a priority as it is needed.

Now for the all important part the weight:

Start of 2026 weight : 104.7 Kg

Last weeks weight : 103 kg

This weeks weight : 103 kg

Difference for the year : - 1.7 kg

I am honestly not surprised that there has been no change as I kind of expected a gain as things haven't gone to plan workout wise & food hasn't been the best. It is really time to get back to it now and really push on to see a bigger difference next week.

My goals for the week ahead:

> Get into the 101 kg bracket

> 8,000 steps a day

>  Gym at least twice

> No takeaways

> 1 night switched off fully to recover

Those are the goals and I am determined to have a much better week than the past. Things have changed and it is time to make the most out of my newly discovered free time at long last whether it is going out getting steps in or doing more workouts.

Let's see what next weeks wrap up includes shall we.

See you soon

It is time to set some new weight loss rewards

Well life has certainly changed and I have decided to look at my weight loss rewards going forward and change them to how life is changing. The rewards are going to be items I really want but keep putting off buying in the hopes that they serve as extra motivation. Each reward is also going to hopefully help progress my life in one way or another rather than me just buying something for the sake of it. The plan is to set a reward for every 5 Kg lost to keep the motivation there and to help me see the progress and get those items to help me along.

So here are the rewards I am setting for myself...

Nike Metcons

I have wanted some Metcons for the longest time and I think now is the time to finally get some therefore they are going to be the first milestone reward. I think I am going to go for a nice simple colourway for these so they go with all my gym outfits but I can't wait to hit my first 5 Kg down so I can finally stop wearing my running shoes for all my workouts and I can finally wear the correct footwear as I up the amount of time I spend in the gym at long last.

Edge of the Area Clothing

I am finally back to giving Edge of the Area my attention and I am planning on heading out to games for reporting. I want to look the part for this and by the time I hit this reward my previous clothing wont be fitting me. The plan is to pick up a coat, gilet, hoodie and top for when I am at games so people know who we are and so that if we are there through an invite with a club they can easily identify us. It all just looks a bit more professional doesn't it.

Gymshark Haul

My reward for getting down to this bracket is going to be a Gymshark haul. My gym clothes will probably be too big by the time I get here and the confidence always rises when I am in a good gym fit so a bit of a haul could be much needed. I wont be going overboard with this just getting a few outfits for the different types of training I will be doing to keep me going until they no longer fit.

Gym or Running Shoes

I will hopefully have put some good miles into my current running shoes by the time I hit this reward bracket so the reward is more than likely going to be a new pair of running shoes however, I could do with some suitable shoes for my boxing sessions if I am really sticking to them as wearing my running shoes for this isn't doing me any favours. I have got plenty of time to decide on this so who knows what I will end up getting just yet.

Machine for the Gym

This year I am determined to make more use of the home gym so I aren't having to travel to the gym every time I want to workout as the motivation to drive down there is sometimes just not there. I really want to work on improving the gym with better quality equipment so when I reach this bracket I will be treating myself to a new machine for the gym, something weight lifting focused I think but first I need to sort the home gym out and workout what I have space for.

Bradford City or Man City Women Training Wear

By the time I hit this reward bracket there will be the new seasons wear out and I want to treat myself to a few bits for the gym. I could even get some of this seasons in the sale if I really knuckle on down to hit it. It has been a while since I have got the training wear for the teams I follow as the fit hasn't been the best for my current body shape. I can't wait to see what I can get and wear with confidence by the time I hit this reward bracket.

Goal Shop

The final rewards bracket is the big one and it is going to be when I finally use that money I have been saving up and get that new wardrobe built up. I have been putting money to one side ready for when I hit my goal weight and this is going to be used to get me those quality pieces I have only ever dreamt of. I am hoping to keep putting into these savings until I reach my target and hopefully I will have a good amount saved up for the shopping trip.

So those are the rewards I am setting myself for every 5 Kg I lose, now I am not sure if I will get to the last few rewards as there is a lot of weight to lose however, I am determined to make as much progress as possible towards these so who knows I may hit one of them if I really push towards it. I will be getting a few little bits as mini rewards for mini milestones that will help me with my journey such as a better quality ice bath, new massage gun and maybe some little accessories but for now it is time to lock in and work towards reward number 1.

See you soon,

Lucy

I guess it was time for a change

2026 is the year of change in all aspects of life, things have been added to life to make it the life I want and things are slowly being removed to make way for the changes and make the quality of life much better. With how much things are changing in life I felt it was time for a change on here too after 10 years I have got rid of all the old posts where I was just trying to fit in and I am now ready to be me and post what aligns with my life.

I feel like lately I have started to finally grow up and I am starting to find myself so I want my content to reflect that and the life I am aiming for and living as I build up to that dream life.  Going forward the site is going to be all about me finding myself and working on myself whilst also building my signature style and achieving the goals I set for myself which I have to admit some are very big and out there. I am going to be looking ahead and looking at steps to improve life and reach the dream rather than being stuck in the past. It is time to start getting what I want out of life rather than just sitting imaging it.

Two of my big focuses for 2026 are going to be my health & my career, two areas I really want to level up in and make a big difference for a change rather than settling for where it is now. I am not planning on falling into old habits and things are going forwards, I am also focusing on saving for the bigger picture so there will not be frequent hauls and purchases on here and spending for the sake of it is going. It is time to be more mindful with purchases and improve the savings for those things I really want.

So going forward here are some of the themes you are going to see on the site:

Lifestyle

This is going to focus on things such as life improvements, working towards my goals and even travel. I may even start financial chats about how I am saving etc. to build the money to enable that dream life. This is something I am really looking forward to including more of in the long run.

Fashion

I am going to be experimenting fashion wise as my size changes and the plan is to use here to document my journey into finding my style, how I style items and how I plan to upgrade my wardrobe to fit the life I try to create for myself.

Beauty

There is going to be a beauty section added to the site too looking at fragrances as I try to discover my signature scent. I am also on a journey to fix my skin at long last so expect to see plenty of posts around that topic in the near future too.

Fitness

Now this is possibly my biggest priority of the year as I lock in to shift this weight and become a better version of myself. That is why most of my content is going to be centered around this going forward in the hopes of holding myself accountable and actually see some progress for a change.

Adventures

We are spending more time as a family this year going on little adventures to new places, walking more and just trying different things for a change. Trips away are scheduled in, concert tickets have been purchased and we are ready to get out and about more.

I am really looking forward to working on this new content and the site going forward so that everything begins to align with the life I am aiming for and I finally starting creating content with a purpose rather than just random bits for the sake of posting.

See you soon,

Lucy

The fitness lock in : Week 1

Every Tuesday on the site is going to be a look at how my fitness journey has progressed as I work towards that huge end goal I have my eyes on. These posts will be my weigh in results and hopefully show the losses week after week whilst also showing how I got there workout wise and the highs & lows of the week. I am hoping that doing these posts hold me accountable and keep me locked in and making progress for the whole of 2026 as I want to get as close to the end goal as possible by December. So here is how the week has going

Workouts

In terms of workouts the week didn't really go to plan as the weather wasn't on our side with roads covered in snow and ice. This meant that football was cancelled, I couldn't get to boxing and I couldn't get to the gym. I did manage about 15 minutes in the home gym to do a bit of a session however, I couldn't risk continuing as I didn't want to get injured due to the freezing weather. I also managed one football training session which was a real struggle with it being my first since the Christmas break.

Steps

My daily goal is to hit 8,000 steps a day and what a disaster that was last week thanks to those icy conditions. I wasn't risking injuring my knee or falling so I spent more time at my desk and in the house last week. I did manage to hit it twice in the period though which I guess is better than nothing. This is something to improve on for sure though.

Nutrition

The workouts might not have gone to plan but the nutrition has been worked on a lot lately. Before the start of the year it was takeaways and junk food galore however, now is totally different. We are yet to have a takeaway or meal out, we have cooked so much more lately. I have stuck to my calorie target daily and kept hydrated for a change. I am really impressed with the progress here as it has so far been a complete U turn and has helped me so much.

The Struggles of the week

The biggest struggle was definitely the weather stopping me being as active as I wanted to be. I wish I could have ticked off my steps every day and got to the gym a whole lot more but it just wasn't safe to do so. Now the weather has changed a bit though I can definitely get back into things properly and hit the ground running.

Focuses for the week ahead

This week is a case of carrying on with nailing the nutrition as it is helping me so much however, I am hoping to really increase my steps and get working out a whole lot more. I want to get back to the gym and also restart the Couch to 5K Programme.

Now for the all important part the weight:

Start of 2026 weight : 104.7 Kg

This weeks weight : 103 kg

Difference : - 1.7 kg

A 1.7 Kg difference was not expected with the lack of workouts but I will certainly take that. I wonder how much of a difference we will see next week when workouts have come into play.

My goals for the week ahead:

> Get closer to my 100 Kg target

> 8,000 steps a day for 5 out of 7 days

> Go on more dog walks

> Continue with no takeaways

> Go to the gym at least twice

I am feeling really positive for the week ahead and feel like plenty of progress can be made if I continue like I have whilst also ticking off the goals I have set for myself. Check back next Tuesday to see if things went to plan or not.

See you soon,

Lucy

My goals for January 2026

Here we go the first monthly goals of 2026 and I am determined to hit the ground running to make 2026 the best year yet. I have big plans for the year and I am hoping that all the goals I list over the next 12 months will help me achieve my big goals for the year. January is all about finding routines and building habits to stick to and plenty of the goals on here are going to help with this. So here are my goals for the first month of 2026...

Fashion

Limit how many clothes I buy

I have come to realise I really don't need any new clothes as my wardrobe is overflowing plus my big focus for the year is losing weight so there is no need for me to be spending on clothing that isn't going to fit me a few months down the line. By not buying clothes now I am going to be able to buy nicer clothes once the weight has come off so this will definitely help me out in the long run.

No wearing jeans every day

I am getting fed up of just picking the easy option when I get ready on a morning. The plan in January is to make sure I am actually smartening myself up and wearing different items for a change. I actually have a drawer full of smarter trouser options which I really should get wearing whilst they still fit. Match these up with some nice tops and accessories and the outfits will get a massive upgrade.

Rotate my footwear

Just like with not wearing jeans everyday I don't want to be wearing trainers. I am over that phase in my life and I want to start wearing quality shoes that help elevate my outfits rather than scruffy trainers that I have just thrown on out of laziness. I have some great pairs of shoes and boots that I can get my wear out of this month if I just took an extra few minutes to reach into the cupboard to find what would go with my outfit better.

Plan my outfits for each week in advance

As I say I am super lazy when it comes to clothing and there is no thought process behind what I wear, that is changing this year though and I am bringing in a new routine each week where I sit and plan out what I want to wear for the week ahead, whether it is for work, a day out or a workout the clothes are going to be clean, ironed and ready to go. No more grabbing items for the sake of it, now is the time to look put together.

Add accessories to all my outfits

I have plenty of accessories such as glasses, watches and jewellery to match any outfit I have in mind so it is about time I started using those items. My plan is to make sure that throughout January I am putting at least one accessory with my outfits for work and days out in the hopes of making them look much better than they originally did.

Fitness

Hit 100 Kg

This goal is not going to defeat me and I know that once I get locked in I am more than capable of hitting this goal. It is going to be a case of really locking in, becoming disciplined and making better choices but if I knuckle down this will really help me set the year off heading in the right direction as I am wanting to lose a fair bit of weight before the end of 2026.

Cook from scratch more

If I want to hit that weight goal for January I need to make sure I am eating a whole lot better than I have been so the plan is to utilize the new kitchen more and get cooking healthy meals. The takeaways and meals out are being reduced this month to really help push and I am looking forward to trying different foods for a change.

Hit 2 gym sessions a week

I am determined to into a real routine with the gym throughout January to help me both physically and mentally. The plan is 2 gym sessions a week whether that is in the home gym or travelling to the gym I am signed up for. I really need to get my body moving and for now 2 sessions a week seems realistic and I can look at increasing those session once the habit has been built.

Minimum of 7,000 steps a day

As I say I need to really knuckle down and get my body moving much more than I have been as those calories don't burn themselves. My plan is to start off with a guaranteed 7,000 a day and gradually build this up until I am hitting 10,000 a day, if not more. It is time to stop being lazy and start joining Liam on those dog walks once again.

Get my 1 Km time back down to 10 minutes

It has been a long time since I have done my 1 Km run for time and it is about time I change that. The last run I did in December was quite a bit above my 10 minute PB so it is time to try beat that and push towards that 10 minutes once more before pushing on to try break into the 9 minute bracket. Running is going to be a big part of 2026 so this time is hopefully going to really improve.

Home

Finish off the kitchen

The kitchen is now so close to being finished and it is those silly little jobs that require doing. I am really hoping in January we can get these done and dusted so that the space is finally complete and I can get the little accessories out in the space at long last and stop having to look at bare plastered walls which is our current view. The addition of insulation in this space should make it a whole lot warmer too.

Start planning the work on the living room

We are having a few months off doing any big jobs until the funds are replenished but the doesn't mean we can't plan the next job right? The next job we get done is the living room which is going to be costly but so worth it in the long run. I am hoping that by the end of January we will have everything planned out for this room so we know exactly what to do.

Keep up to the washing

I am determined to keep on top of the washing as there is no reason for it to be out of hand now we have the new washer and dryer set up. The new washer and dryer are bigger than the previous so we can get loads more done too which is always a nice bonus. No more being lazy it is time to keep on top of silly little things like this.

Finish off the spare room change over

This one should be nice and easy to complete as it is just a case of sorting a mirror and light shade then giving the space a bit of a tidy up. This area is now a bit more of a dressing room with all my clothes and fragrances in one handy little space. This now means that the room is going to be used rather than left empty like it has been.

Start planning the back garden

The goal overall is to have made a start on the back garden by the end of March. Now this space doesn't require too much work however, I want to make it the perfect space for relaxing in and maybe even hosting in so changes need to be made. One change is certainly securing the area for the dog and then it is adding lighting, seating and just making it more appealing. The goal for the end of January is to have a bit of a mood board created to help me visualize this space and give me an idea clearer on what tasks need doing and what needs buying.

Life

Complete a book

I am determined to be reading a whole lot more in 2026 and I want to hit the ground running by completing a book by the end of the month. I managed a grand total of 1 book in the whole of 2025 and that was only read due to being on holiday. The plan is to read at least 5 books in these 12 months so I might as well get one out of the way early on.

Have a switch off night each week

2026 is the year of me firing on all cylinders and not getting worn out like I did towards the end of 2025. The plan is to designate one evening a week to just switching off no writing, no working just enjoying playing a game or reading a good book rather than having my brain on the go. It is time to find a balance where I get things done but also give myself a break.

Post on here when I have planned to

No more making a plan and ignoring it, I am now going to be knuckling down and being consistent on here so if my content plan says a post is due to go up it goes up rather than being forgotten about. I really want to grow this site this year and I know that being consistent is going to help loads so I just need to stop procrastinating and just get on with it.

Post on the gaming site when I have planned to

Just like on here I am wanting to grow the gaming website which has been massively neglected. The plan is just like on here if a post is on the content plan to go up on a certain day that is the day it goes up. No messing around, no being lazy not bothering to get the content done on time things that are on the plan go up when I say from now on. The procrastination really needs to stop.

Be consistent on Instagram

I am really trying to grow my Instagram accounts for my websites too so my plan again is to be consistently posting on them and actually putting time and effort into what I post to hopefully see some growth.  I have so many ideas for content for each account I just need to get the confidence to put the ideas into action and I also need to stop procrastinating once again to make sure posts are actually going up and not forgotten about.

I feel like these goals for the month are all super achievable I just need to make sure I am using my time wisely who knows for the blog and Instagram goals I may even start using scheduling tools to keep on top of things but let's just see how this month goes shall we.

Hopefully we have a good wrap up post at the end of the month with plenty of these goals completed.

See you soon,

Lucy
