Match Day Edit : Football Fits Without The Club Shirt

Welcome to a new series all about dressing for the game without wearing your clubs shirt!

It is all well and good attending football matches however, sometimes you might be attending a game where the teams playing aren't the team you support, or you might just fancy wearing something different rather than the clubs colours especially if you are doing something after the game. This new series is going to be all about those outfits you can wear on matchday's to be comfortable, warm and take the guesswork out of getting ready.

This series has come about as I am on a bit of a journey myself on how to dress for matches when my team might not be playing or for when I want to make a bit more of an effort when it comes to how I look especially if I am reporting on a game. If I am heading to a game to report I want to look a bit more put together and professional as I am representing my football site at the end of the day and want to leave a good impression.

The match day edit is going to be a series posted every Friday and will focus on a few different outfits or specific items that would work for match days throughout the year and can work for the colder nights and the back end of the season. I am even planning on purchasing some of the outfits I post on here to see how they work for me and my body shape as the series progresses.

There are going to be plenty of things to look forward to within this series but the two main ones are:

Basing items around different items

This is going to help me experiment on my own journey too as I can use items I have been tempted to try and base outfits around them to see if it works or not before making any purchases. It is going to be a brilliant chance to experiment and step out of my comfort zone whilst potentially helping others do the same too. I can mix things up a bit in this series and explore my style a bit whilst helping others who may be conflicted like myself.

Exploring the different seasons

I am really looking forward to seeing how the sort of outfit's I create change as the seasons change. The season is going to be covering autumn, winter & spring so there are definitely going to be a nice mix of outfits to keep things comfortable and keep people protected from the UK weather. The whole styling for autumn games could become a favourite I think but we shall see.

I think there is a lot of fun to be had with this series as it is going to be all about experimenting and making peoples lives easier when getting ready. I am also hoping it helps those like me who are not girly and prefer a bit more of a tomboy/androgynous outfit as there isn't enough online to help those people. This is going to become a space for those kind of people though so if that is you make sure to follow along...

See you soon,

Lucy
